As many of you start planning the Erasmus student mobility for academic year 2012/13, the Erasmus office of Letterkenny Institute of Technology sends you its updated web-link:

 

However, as we are undergoing a programmes review, please take note that the list of courses available to Erasmus students can only be found in the Erasmus Programmes document attached & not on our website.

 

Please also note that this list is only a draft and that the courses will not be approved until the end of May.

LYIT offers Erasmus students 2 options:

ð          OPTION 1: to study for 1 semester or 2 semesters.

Students can only select modules from 1 course.

 

Due to financial constraints, entry to courses is subject to numbers and therefore not guaranteed.

 

Students interested in Design and Creative Media programmes will have to demonstrate artistic / creative ability. Students are required to submit an online portfolio to peter.dobson@lyit.ie.

 

Year 3 of the Bachelor of Business is only available to 1 year students (see option 2)

 

For the semester 1: registration will take place on 7th September 2012 @11.00 a.m.  in the Institute’s gymnasium.   Induction will take place at 2p.m. in room 1452.

 

Please follow APPLICATION – ERASMUS

 

Application deadlines: 31st May 2012 for semester 1 and 1st November 2012 for semester 2.

ð    OPTION 2: to undertake the Bachelor of Business in Management or the Bachelor of   Business in Marketing. (2 semesters/ 6 modules per semester)

Applications are processed by the Head of Department of Business Studies.

The number of applications for each institution will vary according to the number of exchange students stated on the Bilateral Agreement. Any extra students will be subject to the registration fee: € 2,250 for academic year 2012/13 and thus will not be entitled to an Erasmus grant.

Due to financial constraints, entry to courses is subject to numbers and therefore not guaranteed.

Induction will take place along with Erasmus Students on 7th September 2012 @ 2p.m. in Room 1452. Registration will take place on Monday 10th September 2012 in the gymnasium.

LANGUAGES

As classes are delivered through English, students are expected to have at least a B1 level according to the common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Students cannot register for modules in their own language.

English Language classes can be organised at a fee. They are subject to numbers.

REPEAT EXAMINATIONS

Take place in LATE AUGUST. Please check academic calendar.

LYIT does not post/e-mail repeat examination papers to partner Institutions. LYIT does not organise repeat examinations for partner Institutions.

ACCOMMODATION

Please forward to your students the attached list of accommodation recommended by previous Erasmus students.
